After the training of 25 health workers last months, our local partners in Ethiopia finally received and handed over 10 cryo-devices*, needed for treatment of precancerous lesions, to the local health centers. In the next months cervical cancer screening and treatment will get started and provided to the women in these remote areas of Ethiopia.
The photos show how proud the nurses and midwives are to be part of the Ethiopian Female Cancer Initiative. Because we don’t offer screening without treatment they were eagerly waiting for the devices to arrive, to be able to carry out the screening and treatment in a single visit approach. Our FCF supporting doctor Margit Vegter will visit the teams in January to see the progress and help them with the starting up of the See & Treat.
