Applicability
This Privacy Statement applies to the processing of personal information (hereinafter referred to as Personal Data) provided by donors, gifts, volunteers, participants and relations, as well as data obtained from visiting and using FCF websites.
Data processing
FCF collects Personal Data when you engage in a sponsorship or make a donation via the form on the FCF website, when settling estates or when participating in one of our campaigns. We also collect data when you register with us to receive the (email) newsletter, request information, participate in a campaign, if you inquire about our activities, ask a question, respond to our website or social media or otherwise interact with us.
What personal data does FCF collect?
FCF may collect contact data such as (company) name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, date of birth and bank details, data relating to transactions and donations, or data that are relevant if you contact us or contribute financially to our objectives as a donor, one-time giver, volunteer or as a participant in one of our campaigns.
As part of its fundraising activities, FCF collects general visitor data from its website visitors. In this context in particular the IP address of your computer, the time of request and data that the browser of a visitor sends, may be registered and used for statistical analyses of visiting and clicking behaviour on the website. Data is made anonymous as much as possible.
We also collect information that you share with us via social media, when you like us, participate in a campaign or contact us. Personal data is processed to keep you informed about our services, activities and fundraising, for example because you have signed up for our e-mail newsletter. We monitor how our newsletter is read by tracking 'opens and clicks'.
Personal data and third parties
FCF never sells your personal data to third parties.
We do, however, sometimes share personal data within partnerships if this is necessary in the context of our actions. We also make use of systems or services provided by suppliers, whereby the supplier may also have access to data of our donors and relations. In all cases, we ensure that these parties offer sufficient guarantees in the field of privacy protection and security.
Rights
If you have a relationship with our organisation, you can view your personal data after a written request. If the overview provided by us contains factual inaccuracies, you may request in writing that we amend the data or have it removed. This can be done in writing by sending an email to info@femalecancerfoundation.org or by post to Female Cancer Foundation, Leiden University Medical Center, Albinusdreef 2, 2333 ZA Leiden.
In addition, if you do not wish to be contacted with information about our projects and services, you can inform us of this in writing. If you have subscribed to our e-mails, every newsletter contains a link by which you can unsubscribe or you can unsubscribe in writing by e-mail or by post.
You may also ask us to delete your data from our database. Please note that we cannot always comply with this request. For example, if you have been a donor, the tax authorities require us to keep agreements for 7 years. Also, if you ask us not to contact you again with (fundraising) requests or information, we must remember your name in order to exclude you from our future campaigns or newsletters. If we cannot comply with your request, we will of course inform you of the reason.
Data security
FCF protects the data entrusted to it by using technical and administrative security measures to minimise the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure and modification. These include firewalls, data encryption and physical and administrative access controls to the data and servers. If you still believe that data has been misused, please contact us. Cookies
FCF uses cookies to make its websites more personal and user-friendly. Below you can read which cookies we use and how you can make a choice.
Analytics cookies
FCF uses Google Analytics to collect information such as the date and time that someone visits our websites and what pages they view. FCF uses this data to improve its websites, to compile 'traffic' statistics (such as the times of day or days of the week when the websites attract the most visitors) and to measure the popularity of the various sections of the site. FCF only uses this data in aggregate and cannot trace it back to a computer or individual.
You can install the 'Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on' to prevent our websites from forwarding information about your visits to Google Analytics.
Social Media Cookies
Through our website, we provide access to various social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. With the help of so-called social plugins, you can share our information with others or recommend it. Cookies are placed on your equipment by third parties via Addthis social plugins. These may be cookies intended to improve your user experience, but tracking cookies may also be placed that are used to track surfing behaviour across multiple websites.
Through our website we also display buttons and widgets from the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, so that you can easily share information about FCF on social media. These buttons are pieces of code from the social media themselves, and make use of a cookie. This cookie remembers that you are logged in, so you do not have to log into Twitter or Facebook every time you want to share something. To see what social media platforms do with personal data, please read the privacy declarations of Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn (which can change regularly). Facebook and Twitter cookies are only placed if you are logged in to Facebook during a visit to the FCF website and give permission for this.
By installing a program such as 'Disconnect' for Chrome and Firefox, you can disable these functions.
