See & Treat

The See & Treat method is a cost-effective method that is used for the control of cervical cancer. A team of health workers visiting clinics in rural communities and slums. The women are made aware of the risks of cervical cancer by local women (health) organizations and called for the screening. The women are also advised how to prevent cervical cancer.

Women are locally screened for cervical cancer by nurse or midwife and if necessary treated immediately. FCF uses for screening the VIA method (screening with vinegar). The treatment of precancerous cervical lesions in the See & Treat concept is done with liquid CO2 or N2O (cryotherapy). With less than 10 euro we screen and treat a woman.
